However, even though it is delicious, it can increase the risk of developing various diseases. Most experts agree that bread is one of the things that you should not include in your diet.
Don’t despair yet. This does not mean that you should stop eating all kinds of bread. Most of the bread you can find in stores contains grains that are hard to digest thus overwork the pancreatic enzymes. Also, the gluten and antinutrient phytic acid in the bread have negative effects on your health. Not to mention the genetic manipulation that most of the bread on the market goes through.
The negative effects of bread are probably due to the large consumptions. There are also people who are sensitive to gluten. The flour used to make bread contains at least 60 chemicals including chemical bleach, all approved by the FDA.
As we already said you shouldn’t completely avoid bread. Instead, you can consume flourless bread that contains none of the chemicals mentioned above. The bread we are talking about is made from ingredients that include fresh grains and legumes which are great sources of B vitamins, protein and fiber. This kind of bread is easy to prepare and the ingredients are easy to find and also affordable.
Flourless bread recipe
- 4 eggs
- 90 grams of walnuts
- 90 grams of flaxseed
- 90 grams of sesame seeds
- 90 grams of sunflower seeds
- 90 grams of pumpkin seeds
- 100 ml of water
- ½ teaspoon of baking soda
- A pinch of salt
Whisk the eggs with the salt in a bowl. Add the baking soda and water to the eggs. Finely grind the seeds and mix them with all the other ingredients. Bake the bread 50 minutes at 180 C (350 F).
