If you are not using a particular muscle or a group of muscles for a longer period of time, they become weaker. For example, the leg muscles of a person who has a broken leg and spends a lot of time in bed or in a wheelchair become weaker over time.
If this same rule applies for the eye muscles, not exercising your eyes enough and wearing sunglasses all the time will deteriorate your vision. This is why you should exercise the eye muscle just like any other muscle in your body.
In order to restore your vision you should follow these tips:
- Avoid applying too much pressure on your eyes. Close them for a few minutes every 2-3 hours in order to rest them for a while.
- You should perform eye gymnastics which includes 16 exercises ( you should follow these lines with your eyes)
- Don’t wear glasses all the time.
- Perform daily exercise following these points:
Apply light pressure on your eyeball with the tips of your index and middle finger. The pressure should be very light and not causing any pain. Next, press these points twice with your index finger.
- When walking outside look into distance.
- Drink a mixture of carrot juice and a few drops of olive oil every day.
- Rinse your eyes with warm water.
- Avoid using electronic devices at least 2 hours before you go to sleep.
- Perform the Indian exercise “Trataka” to improve your vision.
- The Trataka exercise is focusing on a certain point such as a black spot or candle light. This way you improve focus and you stimulate the third eye thus make your eyesight better.
- First, focus on an object and stare at it constantly. Try to empty your mind from any thoughts in order to concentrate on the object completely.
- When your eyes start to tear up, close them for a few minutes. The main goal of the exercise is to spend as much time as you can before your eyes start to tear up.
