The urine color can range from no to a very unusual color. This happens when there are some things happening in the body. This is what health issue indicate certain urine color:
- No color (transparent)
Drinking too much water can make the urine seem transparent. Even though staying hydrated is very important, excessive water intake can change the urine color. Reduce the intake for a while to see whether the urine will stay transparent.
- Pale straw color
This is the urine color of a healthy body. It means that you are hydrated properly and that there is a good balance in your body.
- Transparent yellow
This color also indicates perfect health and if your urine is like this you should be very happy.
- Dark yellow
Dark yellow urine is nothing to worry about. You are probably healthy but dehydrated so you should drink more water.
- Amber or honey
This means that you are severely dehydrated. You should drink water immediately otherwise the body might dehydrate completely which is very dangerous.
- Syrup or brown ale
According to many studies this urine color indicates liver issues such as liver disease or it could also indicate severe dehydration.
- Pink to reddish
If you haven’t eaten blueberries, rhubarb or beets recently and your urine is reddish, the reason could be blood in the urinary tract. This is usually caused by urinary tract infection, kidney disease, prostate problems, tumors, lead and mercury poisoning or something else. Visit your doctor immediately to find out what is the cause of this urine color.
- Orange
The usual causes of this color include liver or bile duct, food poisoning or just dehydration.
- Blue or green
These two very unusual colors often indicate rare genetic diseases but they could also appear because of a urinary tract infection. Whatever the cause, you should consult your doctor if this color lasts too long.
- Foaming or fizzy
If this happens for a shorter period of time it could be caused by hydraulic effect which is harmless. However, if the foaming or fizziness persist they could be a sign of excess protein intake or kidney issues. Consult your doctor if you experience this symptom.
