Natural remedies such as baking soda can provide excellent results in treatment of skin issues. Baking soda is particularly beneficial because it gently exfoliates the skin, it removes the dead skin cells and the toxins while regenerating it. It acts very mildly without causing any skin irritation.
Baking soda has been used as a remedy for rashes and other issues as well as a scrub. We are going to explain 3 different ways you can use baking soda to make your skin look better and healthier.
- Baking soda and water
This mixture is an excellent cleanser for the skin, it keeps it healthy and also removes the layer of dead skin cells.
Create a mixture of baking soda and a little warm water just enough to form a paste.
Start by washing your face with warm water so that your pores will open and then apply the paste. Using circular motion massage your skin and then rinse with lukewarm water.
Another excellent way to use baking soda is to mix it with ground oats. Mix equal parts of baking soda, ground oats and water and massage your face with it. This mixture also works as a scrub and it also lightens the dark skin circles. Rinse with warm water and pat your face dry.
Make sure you avoid contact with the eyes while you are using these combinations.
- Baking soda and lemon
This combination can even out the skin complexion, it removes age spots and also works as a natural disinfector. Mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda, 2 tablespoons of granulated brown sugar and the juice from ¼ lemon. Combine the ingredients well.
Apply the mixture on washed and a little wet skin and leave it to work for 10 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.
- Baking soda and coconut oil
Coconut oil moisturizes the skin, it keeps it hydrated which is why it is excellent for healthy and glowing skin. It can also prevent inflammation.
Mix equal amounts of coconut oil and baking soda and if your skin is sensitive add a little more coconut oil. Apply the mixture on the face and keep it for a few minutes. Then, rinse with lukewarm water.
